Cross-Stitch-Heaven About Me

My name's Donna.... and I'm a stitchaholic!

I have been cross-stitching since I was about 14, when I got brought a kit as a Christmas Present. I didn't have a clue what I was suppposed to do, no one in the family stitched, so I got the instructions out read them from cover to cover and got on with it... that's how it all started!

I stopped and started over the years, but it wasn't until I was in my late Twenties when I really got into it big time, and found out you didnt have to just have kits... there was Stash to collect :-)

I met my partner, Nick, 5 years ago. We live in Derbyshire with our black Labrador Hari who is about 7 years old and a rescue dog. We also have 2 chinchillas's Whisper & Shadow.

We opened our business, Blue Groove Racing, in March 2008 selling and racing Radio Controlled Cars, and this progressed into me adding a stitching & crafting side to the business, Blue Groove Crafts. As of 14th Feb 2011 we will break away from Blue Groove Racing and become Miss Donna Lamb T/A Cross Stitch Heaven.

I have a number of project's on the go at the moment, I am fairly impatient and often cannot wait to get started on something new, so I often find myself saying "I'll just do a little bit in the corner to see what it's like".... Unfortunately this usually means whatever I was stitching up until that point gets discarded for awhile! I'm hoping by updating this website page from time to time with WIP pics It will motivate me to finish the projects.

I'm very much addicted to Heaven & Earth Design (HAED) Charts at the moment and am especially loving the new Lisa Victoria Dragon Quick Stitches, 2 of which have found there way into my stash pile... Rain Dragon and Book Dragon!

I have just found Lisa Victoria's website - Oh my! Think my purse is going to feel a little lighter soon!....

*****UPDATE***** - I have just ordered prints of Rain Dragon and Book Dragon :-) I think they will look great on the wall next to the stitched versions!....Now I need to get my needle going and get them done!

I'm also an active member of Craftbubble, a forum for Cross-Stitchers and crafters. It's a great place to share ideas, get hints and tips, ask for help, get inspiration from the gallery or just to have a chat!
