I've not tried this personally but a lot of people, espeically those stitching HAED's swear by it!  It's not bulky like the easy sew and is easy to remove once you have finished stitching.

Sliver is a very special Metallic effect thread made from a fine metal ribbon. The embroidery surface is uniform with a bright metallic shine. - 200mtr Reel.
